Pixel 3 XL Isn’t Having a Small Notch, Will Support Wireless Charging

-

We already know that the Pixel 3 XL is going to have a notch. But recent leaked images show that the notch isn’t small. First leaked on the XDA Forum by dr.guru, the Pixel 3 XL seems to have a deep notch. Also, a new white color variant can be seen with a glass back which will supposedly support wireless charging.

The back of the phone has a prototype logo instead of Google’s usual “G” along with the notch, chin, stereo speakers, single rear camera, and dual-front facing lenses.

The two-tone black-and-white color scheme from last year’s model has been replaced with a totally white back, similar to the original Pixel XL.

The phone seems to be about the same size as last year’s Pixel 2 XL. This implies that Google is taking advantage of the newly notched design to increase screen surface area without making the physical phone dramatically bigger.

In a later post in the thread, dr.guru also confirmed that the Pixel 3 XL prototype does feature a glass back. Also, the split glossy / matte style, which is the iconic Pixel design, is preserved under a single layer of glass sheet. This also implies that the might is probably having wireless charging support.

Google might tweak the Pixel 3 XL a bit as we still have a couple of months uptil October. Let’s wait for the launch to find out what the actual phone would look like.
