We know a lot about the Pixel 4 and so do you. But today we are going to tell you even more. The Pixel 4 XL is a large device which has a 6.23-inch 3040 x 1440 display.
According to the folks at Nextrift, the phone is about the same size as that of the S10+ and Pixel 3 XL. What’s not changed between the Pixel 3 XL and its successor is the size of the top bezel. But as we already know, the 4 XL houses sensors for Project Soli and cameras.
Nextrift also claims that the Google Assistant on the device is “crazy fast”. There’s now also Continued Conversation which makes it possible to ask for new requests without provoking Google Assistant manually every time.
Coming to the new face unlocking system, there’s a note which says “Your phone can be unlocked by someone who looks a lot like you, say, an identical sibling”. So even though it has got the dot projector “stuff”, it is still not as secure as a typical fingerprint sensor. But so isn’t FaceID so you needn’t worry about that unless you have an evil twin.
Ambient EQ on the Pixel 4 XL
We have seen Apple’s True Tone on various devices, including iPads, iPhones even the Macs. The Pixel 4XL might be perhaps the first device to host a similar technology. Called “Ambient EQ”, it basically adjusts the display color according to your surroundings.
And in case you forgot about Active Edge, it’s still there. You can squeeze your PIxel to fire up the Assistant or silence your calls and notifications.
Talking about the things which aren’t there – there is no expandable storage and neither is a second SIM slot. But there might be an option for eSIM. Nobody has found the options for eSIM in the software, but the devices are running pre-release software. So no comments on that.
That were a few more details regarding the Pixel 4 XL. Google will announce the device on October 15. But you need not wait till then to find out more about it, just keep following us.
