Google unveiled the long-awaited Home Mini follow-up. Going line with the product redesign of its smart home products, the latest version of the company’s wildly popular entry-level smart speaker has been rebranded the Nest Home Mini. The device’s new version looks very much like its predecessor, but has a number of internal enhancements.
The new Nest Mini on the bottom looks the same as the old Home Mini. It’s still a simple little fabric blob with four lights at the end. The new model includes a higher volume (“2x stronger bass”), a better-sounding speaker, a third audio pick-up microphone, and a clear wall mount on the back of the keyhole. It’s still about $50.
Google added “Sky” blue to your color options for the Nest Mini. Other shades include Coral, Chalk and Charcoal.
The new Mini launches on October 22, priced at a temptation of $49— the same as its predecessor, briskly selling. Seems like a pretty safe bet that at that price point Google will sell a lot more of these items. Along with the new Mini, Google is also adding smart speaker features to the new Nest Wifi, which launches early next month.
