The upcoming phone from Google’s flagship series, the Pixel 5, could apparently be powered by a not-so-flagship processor. A new leak from Tom’s Guide revealed that the Google Pixel 5 will run on the same processor that we saw on the OnePlus Nord launched recently.
The AI-Benchmark website added a new listing under the name “Pixel 5”.Do note that this listing has no code name or any other model number. The listing has the Google Pixel 5 mentioned with Snapdragon 756G with 8GB RAM and Android 11.
With this, the Pixel 5 is more or less targeted to budget flagship market, and not the actual fully-fledged market with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and more phones coming later.
Pixel series has not really picked up steam despite Google handling both software and hardware extensively. With this midrange chip, Google could set the price bar low for this and still call it a flagship by providing the best camera in any phone and stock android.
