Pixel 6 is here, and with it, Google has introduced a ton of Pixel-only features. One of them is incorporated with their Google Dialer app. With the new Pixel in your hands, you can now transcribe phone tree menus. This new feature is an upgrade to the “Hold For Me”, and is known as “Direct My Call”, and “Wait Time” this time.
These two features will generally come in handy when you have to go through those annoying automated IVR systems when connecting to a service center through a phone. Now when you dial a toll-free number, Google will transcribe the audio for you, which will include the phone tree, the options, and highlighting the options in real-time. And this will start as soon as the call is connected.
Moreover, the new feature called “Direct My Call” will let you interact with your voice instead of the T9-Pad. As of now, “Direct My Call” is available in English US only.
The “Wait Time” in the Google Dialer will let you know the waiting time when you call a toll-free number. The dialer window will let you know how long you might have to wait before getting connected over the call. In the dialing screen itself, there will be a chat button available in case the business has implemented the option with their business on Google Maps. The older device will get this feature soon. Do note, these features are Pixel-exclusive.
