Blue Bubbles – Green Bubbles is always a hot topic to discuss. If you don’t know what the deal with this is, let me tell you in brief. Apple’s iMessage has this tendency to switch to SMS when the receiver or the sender isn’t sending messages to an iPhone user, which creates a Green bubble to differentiate between iMessage and an SMS. But this has created a lot of chaos, especially in the young adults, and eventually leads to bullying. To tackle this somehow, Google is trying to incorporate some of the features, such as the emoji reaction to its Goole Messages. Although not perfect, but somewhat usable, since its the first feature addition which translates between platforms.
Once you update the Messages app, it will translate the reaction, called Tapbacks in iOS, into similar reactions on your Messages. Moreover, Google has changed some of the emojis for the text you receive, since the Tapbacks are sent as an SMS text to non-iMessage users.
Although tap backs aren’t perfectly translated to RCS emojis, it’s the first step to removing the gaps that are created by a brand.
Our good friend Mike Brown has made a short Reel on the feature on his IG.
