A few days back, Samsung joined hands with iFixit to let the users get the parts and repair their own devices, thanks to the ongoing Right to Repair thing going on. As per this new approach, Pixel users can buy spare parts such as batteries, screens, etc. whenever they need them.
As of now, You can buy these parts, in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and the other European Countries, wherever Pixels are available to purchase. This will be starting later this year. As for the parts, you can buy parts as old as Pixel 2. This comes after a few days when Samsung announced something similar, although covering S20 till now while planning to expand to more devices later on.
The spare parts will be available as is, or as a Fix Kit, and will come with individual tools. However, Google recommends not to do any repair on their own. As they have partnered with third-party repair shops, they recommend you not to perform the repair on their own, as you might do something very wrong with the device in the repair process.
You can also trade in your device, in case you don’t want to use it anymore.
The Tech industry is surely going a 360 now. Once a company made it very difficult to get your expensive devices repaired from a third-party shop. So that they could charge you higher or quote a price near to a new phone. Even they’re providing the parts for self-repairs.
