Starting today, the Galaxy Watch 4 has started receiving the long-awaited Google Assistant. It is made available in form of an app on the Play Store.
Google Assistant can now be launched via the Galaxy Watch 4 and 4 Classic’s app screen, and with voice commands as well. The update was long due ever since Google and Samsung collaborated together and started bringing WearOS 3 to Galaxy Watch. Previously, the Tizen-based OS for the Watch only had Bixby as the only option. With the coming of the WearOS 3, there were chances that Bixby and the Assistant will be available as an option.
Since the initial days, the Galaxy Watch 4 was missing Assistant, and on the other hand, Samsung and Google were silent with the “coming soon” tag. However, after Google wrapped up its I/O, Samsung announced that the Google Assistant will come to watch “this summer”.
This comes just after two weeks of the I/O when Google announced that they are bringing in new features to the Pixel Watch, which also included Assistant, after all.
