A new rumor reveals the design changes in the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a successor to the highly popular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The new spec rumors have been circulating on the Chinese social media platform.
The codename for the upcoming SoC is said to be Kailua and will be fabricated on a 4nm process, in contrast, Samsung is working on a 3nm process already. Interestingly, the CPU layout is completely different from what we have seen in the industry to date. In this, we will get to see one Cortex-X3, two Cortex-A720, two Cortex-A710, and three Cortex-A510 cores.
There are speculations that this architecture/layout is being used because Qualcomm is trying to add 32-bit support to the SoC. Whereas the major OS – Android has ditched 32-bit architecture a long time ago.
However, this information might change, or this might turn out to be fake so consider it to be a piece of untrustworthy information. But if the things turn out as is, we might see the SoC in the next year’s Galaxy S23 series.
